Omani engineering students encouraged to take up work in the automotive sector
Audi Oman showed a diversity of career paths on offer in the automotive manufacturing sector during the recent engineering workshop in the University of Sultan Qaboos. The event formed part of a combined academic-industry initiative, ‘Release the Clutch 2’, which aims to inspire and encourage young students to consider various engineering related careers in manufacturing, sales or after sales, especially within the automotive sector in Oman or overseas.
Said Mr. Abdel Karim Awwad, National Sales and Marketing Manager – Audi Oman: “We are delighted to sponsor the second round of the Mechanical Society Workshop in University of Sultan Qaboos in Muscat. We are using this opportunity and platform to help engineering students become aware about Audi and also demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the development and training of young people at the very highest levels for future jobs.”
Mechanical engineering students were invited to the brand’s stand to get acquainted with Audi’s brand history, innovation and manufacturing processes that help create the world’s finest motor cars. Besides these, models and interactive audio-visuals highlighted various components used in building a motor car helping students understand the engineering complexities and help them choose specializations later on in their respective career paths.
Dr. Ali Al-Harthy Dean, College of Engineering SQU said: “We would like to thank Audi Oman for the sponsorship and the efforts it has taken to educate our students about the latest technologies, green initiatives in the automotive sector. We are looking at Audi Oman as our long term partners in such initiatives.”

Each year Audi Oman offers training placements for graduates and post graduates ranging in duration from June to September months.
