Audi Yanni Sponsorship Helps Raise Cash for Visually Impaired

Audi Sponsorship Helps Yanni “Truth of Light” Concert Contribute Nearly RO 35,000 for Charity


Muscat, December 13th, 2011:  Audi Oman’ s sponsorship of Yanni’s recent “Truth of Light” concert has helped organisers to contribute nearly RO 35,000 to organisations that help the visually impaired in Oman.

The concert organizers have now announced the details of the organisations to benefit from the event. Included are the purchase of Braille equipment for the Omar bin Khattab School; supporting the Ministry of Health in purchasing eye test machines for Al Nahda Hospital in Muscat and for the Salalah Hospital; the provision of riboflavin drops for 200 poorer children, and the offer of free eye treatment to the visually challenged at the Muscat Eye Laser Centre.

Abdel Karim Awwad, National Marketing & Sales Manager at Audi Oman, said: “We are delighted that our support has helped the concert organisers with their objective of raising both money and awareness about the challenges faced by the visually impaired in Oman.” He added “Audi Oman is fully committed to supporting worthy causes in the Sultanate and we are delighted that our sponsorship has played a part in successfully raising such a large level of charitable contributions.”

Audi was the presenting sponsor for the sellout concert that attracted 5,000 fans to Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat and gave the global superstar an Audi A8 L to drive around Muscat during his visit to the Sultanate.
