Global competition returns for the second running in Oman

Building on the success of the inaugural 2012 tournament, Audi Oman announces the second running of the Audi quattro Cup, which will be hosted by Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club on February 14th.

Abdel Karim Awwad, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Audi Oman, said "We are delighted to be bringing the tournament back to the Sultanate in 2013. Audi Oman would like to thank the Ministry of Sport, Oman Golf Committee and of course the team at Muscat Hills Golf and Country Club who have played an integral role in the tournament’s success to date. 2013 offers us the chance to build on the enthusiasm shown by the Sultanate’s amateur golfers last year and showcase our winners on a global platform in the USA."

The winning team from Oman will proceed directly to the World final at Trump National Golf Club, Los Angeles/USA from October 7th - 11th, 2013, Golfers from over 50 different countries will compete for the crown of the overall Audi quattro Cup winner.

The winners of the 2012 national tournament, Henry Obama and Christian Carton, explain the growing popularity of the Audi quattro Cup: "The opportunity to compete in South Africa against players from across the globe was the ultimate experience for us as amateur golfers. We thoroughly encourage golfers in the Sultanate to get their entries in and make sure they are in it to win it."

The event in Oman forms a part of the Audi quattro Cup, a series which is now widely considered to be the world’s premier series for amateur golfers. As the Sultanate pioneers a rapid investment into facilities and golfing excellence, the Audi quattro Cup offers the ideal platform for golfers to demonstrate their talent and competitive spirit. With this second running, Audi Oman is proud participate in this global event, which attracted over 1.3 million golfers in the last 22 years.

Being involved in a competition on an international platform is a huge responsibility and the whole team is looking forward to playing its part in making the tournament a real success. In 2012 Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organized a total of 808 tournaments and over 95,000 amateur golfers participated. For 2013 Audi received commitments from Brazil, Russia and Pakistan among many others to host Audi quattro Cup tournaments.
