Mitsubishi Announces Facebook Initiative to Promote Road Safety
With the current edition of the Traffic Safety Expo 2013, General Automotive Company (GAC), dealers of Mitsubishi in Oman are pleased to announce an exclusive digital road-safety initiative on their official Facebook page. This initiative will not only increase awareness about the vitality of exercising caution while on the road, but will engage directly with customers and fans, inviting ideas around the cause.
 
As a part of the Zubair Automotive Group, GAC has been an active participant in the annual traffic safety expo organised by Omanexpo in collaboration with the Royal Oman Police. This year, they are inviting entries from fans to share tips on how one can be safe on the roads through an online application.
 
Entries are being accepted until November 18, 2013 and best entries will then be chosen on the last day of the exhibition to be published in a public announcement crediting the names of the fans who have contributed towards making road safety a priority in the Sultanate.
 
Mark Tomlinson, General Manager – General Automotive Company commented, “The Traffic Safety Expo is considered a key platform featuring not only the latest trends and most innovative solutions in traffic safety but also highlighting the industry best practices towards reducing the number of traffic related injuries and fatalities. It is thus, in line with the Mitsubishi promise that we have announced this week-long social media initiative to contribute towards enhancing consciousness about being alert on the roads.”
 
He also added, “We are very encouraged by the response we have received on our online communities – with our Facebook page growing to over 8,000 strong in less than three months. We have already begun to receive a large number of tips from fans and are looking forward to more.”
 
In addition to the contest, visitors to the Mitsubishi Facebook Page also have access to a large variety of interesting content, from special offers to the latest brand activities, service promotions and product news. And, by tying in their offline activities with their social media efforts, fans and owners are able to continuously stay up-to-date with everything Mitsubishi.
