25 Cars and 45 Members Visit Mitsubishi Oman Showroom And Tour Historic City
Mitsubishi Oman has hosted a special visit by the ever growing Omani Evo Team to its showroom in Nizwa followed by a tour of the historic city and surrounding area as the company strengthens its strong ties with Evo owners across the Sultanate.
The convoy of 25 Mitsubishi Evo cars with 45 members was welcomed at the showroom premises in Nizwa by sales staff before setting off on a tour of Nizwa also accompanied by a number of local Lancer owners from the area.
With their ROP escort in place the Evo convoy was soon attracting a considerable amount of attention from the public admiring these powerful vehicles that have been the basis of Mitsubishi’s success in rallying both in Oman, the region and around the world.
Crowds soon gathered as the convoy passed through Nizwa’s main markets outside of the town and then back to Nizwa souk and fort with locals pausing to take photographs of the convoy when it stopped.
The Evo drivers found themselves the centre of attention again when the convoy stopped off at the new Lulu Hypermarket on the outskirts of Nizwa with shoppers keen to find out more about the cars and have their photograph taken with the cars and their Evo Club owners.
Mitsubishi Oman branch manager in Nizwa, Aftab Ahmed Khan said: “We were delighted to host the Oman Evo Club for the day and we were amazed at the level of interest and enthusiasm from the general public about the cars and the Lancer EX in general during our tour of the Nizwa area.
“It is clear that Mitsubishi and the Lancer EX is a very popular and desirable car among the Omani public and we were delighted to be the host for the club for the day and strengthen our already very strong relationship with club members.”
Members of the Oman Evo Club are excellent ambassadors for the Mitsubishi brand in Oman and regularly go on club outings as a group to locations all over the Sultanate – savouring the power and performance of the Evo that is developed from the Lancer EX model.
Mahir Al Balushi of the Evo Club added: “We would like to thank Aftab and the team at Mitsubishi in Nizwa for their kind hospitality and helping our convoy to move around the Nizwa area.
“It was great to see so much enthusiasm for the cars and we are delighted once again to help promote the Mitsubishi brand and the safety features of these wonderful vehicles to the general public.”
Mitsubishi Oman meanwhile is currently offering visitors to its stands at the Muscat Festival a fun opportunity to have their photograph taken at a mock-up board where they can imagine themselves as winning rally drivers at Qurum Natural Park throughout the festival.
Mitsubishi has a proud rallying tradition – especially with the Lancer EX and Mitsubishi Evo models – and is reflecting that with their vehicle presentation at the two prime locations for visitors to Oman’s biggest annual cultural celebration.
At Qurum the vehicles displayed include the new 2012 models of the Lancer EX, Pajero and Outlander while at Naseem Gardens can look around the Lancer EX, Galant, Pajero and L200.
