Mopar's Al Hinai in First Place at Omani Innovations Exhibition Car Drift Challenge

Mohammed Al Hinai, the face of the Mopar brand in the Sultanate, came in first place at the recently held Omani Innovations Exhibition 2014’s Car Drift challenge. Mohammed was also recently invited to open the Oman International Rally that is organized annually by the Oman Automobile Association where he enthralled audiences with his stunning drifts. Mopar and Dodge have a proud heritage in drifting and car racing, and are pleased to support Mohammed Khalid Al Hinai, who is famous in drifting and racing circles for having won the ‘Drift Challenge’ that was part of the Ramadan Motorsports Festival at the Oman Automobile Association Ground in Seeb recently.
Having many feathers in his already brimming hat, Al Hinai has also participated in the recent Red Bull Car Park Drift where he won rave reviews from judges and the audience alike. In the coming months Al Hinai will also be participating in the Oman Drift Championship 2014-2015, the UAE Drift Challenge, and other drifting events in the KSA, Qatar and Jordan; that are considered drifting capitals of the Arab world.

Driving a Dodge Challenger SRT (6.1 Litre, 450cc HP) recently modified super-car, Al Hinai’s team comprises Mohammed Al Zedjali and Mohammed Al Awaidi. The Challenger driven by Mohammed comprises vibrant hues of black, red, blue and silver, and also sports the Mopar and Dhofar Automotive logos. The car boasts of a new gearbox, new clutch and power steering pump, all of which have been specially fitted at the Mopar team at Dhofar Automotive.

Mohammed Khalid Al Hinai says, “My sponsors, Dhofar Automotive, have gone the extra mile to ensure that I have the perfect car and team in place. They have provided me with personal safety accessories from Mopar such as helmets and fire-proof overalls; and have also taken great care of the car, vis-à-vis maintenance and servicing which keeps the car running well. The wear and tear on tires is always on check, and Dhofar Automotive very generously provides me with new sets of tires periodically, so that I can practice and continue developing my drifting skills with ease and safety.”

He continued, “I would like to thank Dhofar Automotive for their tremendous support. I couldn’t have asked for better brand sponsorship support to participate in drifting challenges in Oman and internationally. I’m happy to be driving a Dodge Challenger, as safety is taken very seriously by the brand and begins with a strong safety cage body structure with standard side guard door beams, reactive front head restraints which help prevent or reduce the extent of injuries in certain types of rear-end impacts and standard airbags that include advanced multistage front, a driver inflatable knee blocker airbag, front seat-mounted side and front and rear side-curtain airbags on. Not just this, the Challenger also comes with Electronic Stability Control, Rain Brake Support, Ready Alert Braking, and even Tire Pressure Monitoring to alert you when your tire pressure is low.”

Roderick Lloyd, National After-Sales Manager, from Dhofar Automotive said, “The main aim of sponsoring Al Hinai’s Drift team is to be able to take our range of vehicles to our customers in the heart of Oman, and help those with a passion for racing and life, achieve their aspirations and dreams. Not just this, the sponsorship also helps us complement our presence in world racing and drifting competitions, helping our sales and marketing teams in Oman leverage motorsports to drive traffic and generate sales. Having followed Al Hinai’s accomplishments as an ace drifter keenly, we at Dhofar Automotive, with Mopar, decided to sponsor a Drift team in Oman for the first time, as we believe that this new age driving sport has a huge future in the Sultanate. We are pleased to partner with Mohammed Al Hinai and see him scale greater heights in the car drifting circuits in Oman, as well as internationally in the years to come.”
