Outstanding Performance By Middle East Contingent at the Volkswagen Retail Qualification World Championship
• Middle East representative takes home award for best salesperson 
• Volkswagen highlights commitment to Service Excellence with on-going training for sales and service professionals 
• 300 of the world’s top professionals from 80 countries take part at Retail Qualification World Championship finals 
The finals of this year's Volkswagen Retail Qualification World Championship (RQWC) took place last week in Germany, at which Mr. Bassam Salameh, from Kettaneh, the official Volkswagen partner in Lebanon, was named the best Volkswagen salesman across the Middle East, Africa, Russia and CIS countries. Around 300 participants from 80 countries took part in the championship final which was introduced to reward Volkswagen sales and service experts as part of the brand’s on-going commitment to Service Excellence.
Under the motto ‘One brand, one team, one challenge.’ it is the fifth time that Volkswagen has held an international competition for the employees of its partners. The aim of the RQWC competition is to continually improve sales and service quality in all markets and therefore further increase customer satisfaction with the Volkswagen brand.

Continued customer satisfaction is our aim and only by achieving this can we achieve our business goals. Our retail world championship sets us firmly on that path.

The level of expertise amongst the contenders was extremely high and we are delighted that the Middle East region is taking home this honour. The RQWC competition allows our Volkswagen sales and service experts to showcase the skills that they have spent years perfecting and reconfirms the benefits of our on-going technical and non-technical training programs for all Volkswagen personnel. 
“In addition, the 2010 winner of the Best Service Advisor in the World award, Andreas Schaefer, has since taken the position of Service Quality Manager at Volkswagen Middle East, which just highlights the possible upward career trajectory which can take place after winning one of these awards.”
Christian Klingler, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Group and of Volkswagen Passenger Cars, presented awards to the RQWC champions which included the categories best salesperson, best service advisor, best master technician, best parts advisor and best country team. 
Yet another important aspect of the RQWC is to determine the current state of knowledge in Volkswagen dealerships and service organisations in the participating countries. With the aid of this information, country-specific training programmes can then be devised and implemented more efficiently. The RQWC therefore has a key role to play in a targeted improvement in the level of training among Volkswagen sales and service employees around the world. 
On a regional level, Volkswagen Middle East has its own dedicated training academy in Dubai and provides mandatory technical and non-technical training to all of the service staff, from basic to advanced levels. In 2013 alone more than 300 training days will be offered with 200 technical and 100 non-technical service personnel qualifying from the academy. 
Every Volkswagen dealership offers certified Service Managers, Service Advisors and Master Technicians, all of which have undergone an intensive training program with refresher courses taken every two years. Areas of the technical training include drive train, convenience and safety reports, maintenance and diagnostic competence while the non-technical areas cover skills in service management and assistance and service advice.
