Service lane superstars at Dhofar Automotive receive technical awards

Dhofar Automotive recently conducted a Technical Contest for service technicians working with the Fiat Chrysler Brands. The technical awards have been instituted with a vision to keep technicians up-to-date on the technical features of models, in-depth diagnostics, and other service procedures; as well as to recognize and motivate them to excel further in their jobs.

Roderick Lloyd, Head of Aftersales, Dhofar Automotive elucidated, “Fiat Chrysler brands have set global benchmarks in areas of engineering and design. Oman is a growing and important market for the Group, and through this initiative we aim to continue to replicate international standards set in place. With this program our goal is to develop highly skilled and trained professionals who will cater to the automobile industry and serve our customers better by ensuring end-to-end process standardization and execution.” He added, “I am proud of my team and their achievements, in a short span of time. After looking at their success, this contest will be a part of Dhofar Automotive’s annual calendar.”

After a preliminary knockout round across the Sultanate, 12 finalists were selected. The technicians went through a comprehensive series of tests that included: a written theory test, component examination test, mechanical test and finally, a full diagnostic procedure test. After completing the written test, technicians were put through the paces, testing their ability to examine and explain faults on individual components, diagnosing fault codes, identifying cause of failure and providing suggested corrective action.
S
even judges monitored and marked the results during the contest, with moderators from Fiat Chrysler Middle East and Dhofar Automotive, concluding the final score. The contest results were close, with only a few points separating the top three from the rest.

The ceremony saw the distribution of Master Certification Awards by Chrysler Training Manager, Ahmad Sallahuddin to: Master Technician Suspension – Dangal Mariano and Emmanuel Llanera; Master Technician Chassis and Suspension –  Alberto, Baiju Thekkeneth, Jerson Saguyo; Master Technician HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning) – Ravi Shetty and Chaminda Ratnayeke Ruwan and Master Technician HVAC, Chassis and Suspension – Shashidhara .
