Zubair Automotive sponsored 3-Day Event Showcasing Company Commitment to Safer Driving Initiatives and Helping Omani Motorists Enjoy “A Safer Journey” In the Future

Muscat, 26 October, 2011:  The Zubair Automotive Group wasonce again delighted to be platinum sponsors for the Annual Traffic Safety Expo 2011 which ran from 18th to 20th October at the exhibition centre, Seeb.  This sponsorship reinforced the company’s commitment to helping all drivers within the Sultanate have “A Safer Journey” by reducing the number of accidents and fatalities on the roads.

Since 1973 The Zubair Automotive Group has been a pioneer in the automotive business in Oman. It has always been committed to offering the safest vehicles and safety products to keep customers and their families, safe while driving.

Throughout the exhibition the company actively engaged with the public and invited them to pledge their intention to commit to safer driving habits by not using their mobile phoneswhen driving, to use child safety seats for their family, always wear a seat belt, have their car regularly checked and serviced, keep to the speed limit etc.

To reinforce the importance of these pledges there was an opportunity for visitors to put their driving skills to the test on a custom built miniature car track, in order to showcasethe perils of what can happen if they don’t concentrate while behind the wheel.

The exhibition was hailed a great success with both public and professional reaction being extremely positive on the messages about road safety being very well received.

Parshant Gadpaile a professor in Applied Science College in Ibra: “it is an influential technique to convince the visitors about the risk of talking on the telephone while driving the car, especially for those people who are confident that they can handle the car when they are speaking in phone. I really appreciate the efforts that Zubair Automotive are exerting in this context”

Commenting on their sponsorship and presence at the Traffic Safety Expo, Zubair Automotive Group General Manager Serdar Toktamis said: “Zubair Automotive Group is one of Oman’s leaders in encouraging safer driving in the Sultanate.  We are proud to once again be a major contributor to this annual event and thank the organisers and the Royal Oman Police in effectively communicating the road safety message across the Sultanate.”

“The level of casualties on our roads every year is significant, especially for a small nation such as ours, and it is our intention to do all that we can to reverse this trend.   The practical demonstrations of what can happen if a motorist loses concentration whilst driving really reinforces the message.”

“Our aim is to educate and inform all drivers about safe driving practices and there by encourage everyone in kind of vehicle to make sure they enjoy A Safer Journey when they set out to their destination.”

The Zubair Automotive Group launched their “Safer Journey” initiative at the Road Traffic Safety Expo in 2010 as part of a long-term campaign and commitment to creating a safer driving environment across Oman and encouraging responsible driving habits.
This pledge campaign will be rolled out across the company’s comprehensive network of showrooms and will have a presence in every major town and city across Oman.
